In the UK, the Reconstructive Surgery Trials Network has developed a trainee network and this can be replicated across Europe.

The WIRE Service Evaluation is investigating the current treatment of adults undergoing hand fracture fixation with Kirschner wires. The aim is to develop an RCT comparing burying or not burying the wires. The team are recruiting centres. Check out the website for more information.
