Research

The evidence base for plastic surgery could be improved! There is great potential for European trainees to come together and develop multicentre international studies.
In the UK, the Reconstructive Surgery Trials Network has developed a trainee network and this can be replicated across Europe.

The TRIGGER Study was the first collaborative project (Trigger Trial). The WIRE Service Evaluation is now recruiting units.

The WIRE Service Evaluation is investigating the current treatment of adults undergoing hand fracture fixation with Kirschner wires. The aim is to develop an RCT comparing burying or not burying the wires. The team are recruiting centres. Check out the website for more information.
The TRIGGER Study is the first multinational research project we are supporting. It is investigating the care of adult trigger finger. Check out the website for more information.
